35th Tehran International Book Fair to be held in May
TEHRAN-The 35th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) will be held from May 18 to 28 in the capital city, the book fair's deputy director said.
Noting that the venue of the 35th TIBF has not been finalized yet, Ali Ramezani said: “The policy council will soon review the reports about the available options and decide where the fair will be held,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
During recent years, the TIBF has been held either at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla (prayer ground) in central Tehran or the ‘Shahr-e-Aftab’ (Sun City) complex in south Tehran. It is expected that one of the two venues host the upcoming edition of the major annual book fair in the country as well.
The cultural event has turned into a landmark, momentous book fair in West Asia after 34 editions in a row. Millions of visitors inspect the fair every year, including thousands of university students, scholars, and their families.
The event currently serves as the most significant cultural event in Iran. On average 2,500 domestic and 600 foreign publishers participate in the landmark event. The foreign publishers substantially offer their materials in English or Arabic however titles in French, German, Chinese, Korean, or Japanese are also available.
